MIDDLE SCHOOL

Grade 2 through Grade 5

A time of expanding horizons.

Working closely with their teachers, students make significant developmental leaps forward in all areas: Math and Science; Hebrew, French and English; History and Geography; and Jewish culture.

Through their studies, students grow into a wider awareness of their heritage, and of the world around them.

“What do our children receive from the Day School? An excellent secular education, a strong Jewish identity, knowledge of our history and traditions, a good grasp of Hebrew, and a strong measure of self-confidence. All of this is achieved in a warm, safe and nurturing environment.”
                                                             - Martin and Esther Marcus

Our Middle School General Studies curriculum meets and exceeds the Ontario Ministry of Education requirements. Early in the month of May, students beginning at Grade 3 take The Canadian Achievement Test.  The CAT 4 assesses the students’ achievements in relationship to the Ontario Curriculum.

The Grade 2 program also includes our special Chagigat Chumash ceremony, where all Grade 2 students receive their personal Chumash in recognition of their developing mastery of Hebrew reading skills and ability to participate in various ritual observances.

A detailed course curriculum is provided to parents.  If you have any questions, please contact the school at office@lchds.ca
